The term “renewable” means it can be reused, and “nonrenewable” means that it can be used once. For example, we talk about natural sources like crude oil, coal, and fossil fuels that are nonrenewable because they can’t be reused once they are consumed. On the other hand, renewable sources like solar, wind, thermal, and ocean are available in abundance and can be reused to make a greener world. As per the eig(dot)gov report in the U.S, 60% of the electricity is produced by nonrenewable sources.
